DISCLAIMER: I mostly play hard so this is from pure memory which fits Hard the most. I will edit the differences if any are required.[/b]
A Topic here mentioning all that is to do with possible shortcut glitches with the platform glitches to phase through the floor. I've gotten on the wall with Johnny and ONCE with Charlotte.
Friend Canas does it a lot with Simon. I can do it usually within 5-10 times with Soma's puppet trick.
The true factor I do with it is I do it a bit different than the Soma elevator glitch tricks I've seen. I wait until the platform just is almost on the far left top corner of the thing, throw Puppet Master with regular B. Then turn walk off and dive kick facing left. Sometimes my timing is off and the puppet misses but if I hit it just right, the puppet lands almost soon as you dive kick, if it fails that it sometimes hits the platform just below that one and it will work yet again.
Only thing you must remember is when it sucks you to the wall, you'll first start to go down, (if you're tooo low when it puts you on the wall, you'll roll back to the R. Skeleton area above the book.) then go up and when you're just about to hit the platform by the door, you hit that corner and push UP + A and you'll be slingshotted into the spikes.
There is so many youtube videos and it is a pure glitch not really a short cut. I'm gonna kinda just leave it at that. But word of advice if someone is glitching do not enter the R. Mummyman room as that is the point of no return and you HAVE to finish the whole stage. To get to the elevator/conveyer area, you have to go regularly and kill the Queen Medusa. Then you're in the area if you see the book / water of life.
1) Shanoa Purple Chest
If you are getting Secret #5, the secret item for this stage. You will exit into that new area behind the wall you break, which is located just after the mini boss PHANTOM BAT up the first flight of stairs. Now the only way commonly you're suppose to get up there is with Shanoa's magnet. I do believe it is way to high if memory serves for Julius to make it. So only Shanoa, Soma, Richter and ONCE I did it with Alucard. Not since.
Shanoa ~ The magnet. Nuff said.
Soma ~ The tricky way is to throw a Yorick skull out from the top by the green chest, then jump on the skull bounce off and use your double jump at the right time to land on the platform above. If you want an easy way, just skull jump (possibly double jump up high instead) and slowly Medusa over to the platform by holding Right Bumper, letting go for a split second and press it again repeatedly.
Richter ~ It's tricky, sometimes takes me 5-10 tries if I'm off my martials but what you do is go to the top with the green chest. You double jump so you're about half way towards the purple chest landing platform, you tackle before you lose even a bit of height, and then spin kick at the right time to give you that last bit of effort to get up there.
Alucard ~ I've never been able to recreate it but I did one time mist all the way over there after a double jump. I've yet to be able to succeed in it again. I'm wondering if I lagged or something to be honest but I'm putting this here to let others know I did once. I can think if you use alucard and someone else not able to make it, that jump kicking off someone's head could help you get high enough.
2) Invisible Floor Purple Chest
Okay this is just before you go into the R. Mummyman mini boss room. It is on the invisible floor, all you do is drop down holding right on the far right hole closest to the R. Mummyman door. The trick to getting it though is, there is 1-2 missing stones in that invisible floor and what I personally do is just repeatedly jump once like a hop and if I even lightly go down double jump. I have fallen but mostly this tactic has saved me. If you're shanoa there is magnets leading back up near you, if you're not shanoa and falll, you gotta go around.
3) Death Row Purple Chest
I think this name is fitting. After you drop down from the R. Mummyman mini boss room, you'll have a book to the left, through all the dangerous painful water and the R. Fish Man....there is a beautiful purple chest. The problem is the R. Fish Man seem to almost jump at you soon as YOU jump, I honestly avoid this one as most people who do always have to use a potion upon getting back. Waste of a potion. Seeing as there is four other safer purple chests.
4) Regular Phantom Bat Purple Chest
This one is the hardest to get to but still safer than number 3. The only way to get up here without being soma and using medusa head or a second player is to jump kick on the first Phantom Bat directly after the R. Grim Reaper and keep jump kicking until you can jump over the right side of the stone 'tower', then follow it until you get to a purple chest.
With two players, one being Soma. You can throw a skull let them jump on it and throw another one higher up so they can jump off of a higher skull to get up there. It's what I do when I'm soma and we aim for that one too.
The solo way with Soma is if you're VERY damn good at throwing skulls you can bounce off of a skull, then throw another and bounce off of it in time but the easy way is to hold medusa head near the tower but not touching it. Throw a skull so it bounces off the tower and under you and dive kick on it, to get up higher once more. It should only take two skulls if you do it at the right heights. I've yet to do it in one skull jump unless I'm just placing it in the wrong spot but then I never really go there for it with Soma so no real point to try.
5) Spiked Purple Chest
This one is at the very end just like the very last water of life. You land on the moving platform, duck and then jump over to it. Once you have it, you wait for the moving platform to get close and just walk off and you should land on the platform. Then duck, and jump back to head to the boss. It's simple once you get the timing back down. It's in the cog area and can't be missed if you're heading to R. Count.
1) Before Three Spiked Trap Water of Life
This one is hard to miss but it is just before you go up to the Three Spikes trap that slams down. Below the first R. Medusa Head corridor. It'll be guarded by a R. Black Knight, and just below it will be a red chest with gold guarded by another R. Black Knight.
2) The Book Water of Life
This water of life can be missed if you're not paying attention but just after the Queen Medusa there will be a book you can restock on items to the bottom right of the conveyer belt leading up to the locked door to the boss area (only opened on the other side.), this is just sitting above the book on a small platform.
3) The Mummyman Water of Life
If you're alone you'll have to use the R. Dragon Cannon(believe thats what they are called, the retro bone pillars.), or you'll need to skull jump up. Among one of those things or if you have a friend you can use their head to get up. This requires a jump kick far as I know, there is no other way to do it. (Stab to use Charlottes and Yokos! xP)
4) R. Axe-Man Water of Life
Right before Secret #15, being guarded by a R. Axe-Man. It is IMPOSSIBLE to miss unless by chance he is on top of it and you aren't paying attention. It's after R. Creature and before the R. Grim Reaper.
5) After The R. Grim Reaper, Below The Phantom Bats
After you beat the R. Grim Reaper you'll come to gold stone path with holes, most dropping down to spikes but after you pass the spikes you can drop down below and grab a water of life below all the regular Phantom Bats which have less health than the mini boss one.
6) Spiked Water Of Life
Now you're passed the phantom bats, passed the R. Skeletons and in the room with R. Eagles holding R. Hunchbacks. As you get to the bottom cog there is a purple chest to the left and water of life to the right. You need to land on the platform if you want no risk. Duck if you go for the purple chest or it leads to the left while going for water of life. Land on the water of life, grab it and then walk back onto the platform to get up and out.
Note: They are in order of how you find them! It isn't quite as 100% detailed as I can, but anyone having issues finding one, sometime when I'm free I'll get on with ya and show it to ya.
Secret #1 - Silver Gold Bag (1,000G)
Jump in the doorway that enters into the castle, spawns in gold bag. Just behind you near the candlestick.
Secret #2 - Gold-Gold Bag (2,000G)
By the third R. Black Leopard, the last stone to the right its laying on. Break it for a gold bag.
Secret #3 - R. Meat Strip
Wall with two rows of three black squares in it above the fish man water, breaks for R. Meat Strip.
Secret #4 - Gold-Gold Bag
Far right of the water just below the candle, you crouch and it spawns a gold-gold bag on the left side of the higher up platform, just to your left. Be careful of the R. Fish Man though!
Secret #5 - Crown Secret Item!!
Right after the Mini Boss (Phantom Bat) you go up orange stairs, break that wall at the top of the first set of stairs, going into that room with the green chest/purple chest, will trigger the Crown to spawn which is the secret item of this level.
Secret #6 - MP Heart Item
After Secret 5, you'll jump up to where the R. Black Knight is, then a second is on a two stone platform, if you hit the top right stone while standing where the second enemy was, you'll break the top stone, gaining a BIG heart. (MP regen of +10-20 I think, never paid attention.)
Secret #7 - R. Meat Strip
Right across from the first water of life you'll see one enemy walking back and forth, with a two stone platform above it. The right side breaks for a R. Meat Strip.
Secret #8 - R. Meat Strip
Right after Secret 7, passed the first R. Medusa heads, you'll come to three spikes slamming down. If you're facing the candle on the lower platform, jump up on the three stone higher platform and hit the first stone near you to the right. It'll break for ANOTHER R. Meat Strip.
Secret #9 - Gold-Gold Bag
After the three spike trap, you'll come to what looks like stairs you just jump through and two stones you jump on/over. The left one breaks for a gold-gold bag.
Secret #10 - Silver-Gold Bag
As you're walking to the Queen Medusa, there are blue pillars.(Six I believe) The third one closest to the Queen Medusa, you tap/hold up and you'll get a silver-gold bag.
Secret #11 - R. Meat Strip
After the Queen Medusa you'll come across two, two-stone platforms with one R. Hunchbacks on each. The second one closer to the R. Skeleton will have a R. Meat Strip in it.
Secret #12 - A Gold Bag
After you go pass the R. Ravens and R. Skeletons, you'll pass R. Medusa Heads by some stairs at the end. Climb both sets and you'll see a blue building with windows, the first window has like grass coming from it, but out of reach of the ground. Then some grass right after that, that's touching the ground. You crouch while in front of the grass and you'll have a gold bag (silver I believe) spawn on the stones at the top of the steps to your left.
Secret #13 - R. Meat Strip
Long passed the last secret (12), you'll have beaten R. Mummyman, passed the R. Eagles carrying the R. Hunchbacks. You'll have come upon a R. Skele-Dragon. A retro white dragon pretty much, the second one you come across will be above two orange stones. The first one breaks for a R. Meat Strip, perfect cause R. Creature is coming up next!
Secret #14 - R. Meat Strip
After R. Creature, you'll pass some hunchbacks, and skeletons. Finally coming to the Red Skeletons, they have 4 hp or so, then drop and few seconds later put themselves back together. It'll be one red skeleton, two hunchbacks, one red skeleton and a third hunchback, behind him there you'll be able to break the platform you gotta jump on to proceed, it'll give you a R. Meat Strip.
Secret #15 - R. Meat Strip
After you pass the Water of Life that is being guarded with the R. Axeman, you'll see a Red Skeleton, then another, then a step of stairs to walk up. Once up, turn back and smack the wall to your right. It'll break for a R. Meat Strip.
Secret #16 - Silver-Gold Bag
Right after Secret 15, jump over to the two stone platform, crouch and a silver-gold bag will spawn on top of the red skeleton. (careful, he'll bite you as you go for it! xP)
Secret #17 - Gold-Gold Bag
As you get further on you'll be able to see the red spikes above and a phantom bat. At this point you'll see go down stairs, well you'll also see about six stone platform leading to nothing but a wall. If you go tight to that wall, hold up. A gold-gold bag will drop at the bottom of the stairs for you to pick up.
Secret #18 - Not 100% Verified / A Gold Bag
UNKNOWN SECRET. Okay I'm putting this here even though I can't verify it. You'll see just after that a Axe-man above an area you can slide into and a red skeleton walking around. I KNOW I got a gold bag to spawn in somewhere ni here. I think when I slide under I crouched/held up and triggered it but I don't remember how. This is the only secret I don't know 100% of (Far as I'm aware, I know them all besides this one.)
Secret #19 - R. Meat Strip
As you climb the stairs and see the R. Axe-Man above you and the R. Medusa Heads above you. The wall at the top of the stairs to your right will break for a R. Meat Strip.
Secret #20 - R. Meat Strip
Directly above the last water of life, above across from the second cog from the top, you can break the wall to your right to get a R. Meat Strip. The very last one.
Secret #21 - Gold-Gold Bag
The bottom cog has gears and such in the background, if you crouch as you get to the right side of the cog (with solid black background behind you.), it will spawn a gold-gold bag on the two stone platform to your left.
This boss was the very first boss of the original NES Castlevania game. It is why this specific Phantom Bat has almost double the health than what a regular Phantom Bat near the end after R. Grim Reaper has. It has a very typical pattern. If it is flapping his wings it is about to move either to the left or right. Usually towards you to slam into you.
It throws firebals towards you as well. Normal it's only one, Hard it is three.
That's really all I can say about him, he's pretty easy. Long as you're not using the Valmanway without miser rings and such. Most of the mini bosses are blender-proof.
She's pretty typical too, soon as you enter her 'room', she'll come to life. She just moves around and drops snake strains of hair I believe is what it is suppose to be.
The sign that she is about to move either left or right (again usually towards you or another player.), is that she'll flash back and forth like 2-3 times. Then she'll move and almost everytime if not everytime she moves she'll drop snake strains of hair. I think the only time she won't is if there's a blender or a big wide spell (Acerbatus from Shanoa) on her when she moves.
She has the possiblity of dropping a Melon for you to pick up and get +120 MP after the fight.
The only real hard part about this mini boss is it is TWO R. Mummyman. The only attack they have is they flash and three wraps go out whereever they are facing and float to the other side. If you have a Valmanway or another blender blade you can blend it to keep it from spawning. The bible works to shield you as well if you time the throw. Acerbatus or throwing tons of Globus in the closed boss room also keeps the wraps down. The only hard part of dodging the wraps is if the second one hits you while you dodging the first.
Besides the wraps, it just moves left and right. That's it. No other attacks.
R. Creature, he doesn't have any lightning or anything! But he does have little igor...I mean R. Hunchback on his back. It'll jump back and forth throwing fireballs at you, but if you keep it 'dead' by hitting it and keeping it transparent. It will not throw fireballs.
R. Creature just runs at you and walks into you. That's it so what the best thing to do is stay by the door and throw holy water/R. Fire Bomb at him. Globus is nice since its a condensed room. Anything that can hit him while you sit there safely from all but the R. Hunchback is great.
He can drop BERSERKER MAIL like a basic food item once he is dead. Much more commonly than on Chapter 5 Hard, and luck should 100% affect this due to it being a monster drop. That's been confirmed I believe? Boss chests is the main thing that has been up in the air.
I rather fight Death in chapter 5. All this dude does is jump back and forth and summon R. Death Scythes like the non-retro Death does. The passive ability one. Surprisingly as lame as this sounds, he can hurt ya bad. Real bad. Though I have seen techniques. Me and one friend got to stay in the very bottom corner as Jonathan and Richter. I did the "Tickle/limp" whip, spun it while he did Wrecking Ball subweapon and we just chilled out there while death randomly jumped into the Wrecking Ball most the time avoiding us completely and the R. Death Scythes were dodged by my whip spinning.
Overall though, if you cast Soul Steal, use Bibles, anything that can clean out the R. Death Scythes, he is not hard overall. It's just all the scythes and his randomness to land on your face. (Death by Death's ass....again!!!!)
He can drop the DEATH'S ROBE just like a basic food item once he is dead. Just like R. Creature, its easier and more common least for me than Chapter 5 Hard. Luck should be affected I do believe.
His first form on Normal is a joke, so I'm gonna refer to his Hard form mostly, same tactics really apply but I believe he doesn't or rarely slides backwards on Normal and his Retro Hell Fire only is the lower wave. None behind and none high up.
NOTE: Being nearly anywhere near the boss room will usually get you hit with his fireballs. Due to the fact they go through the boss room door and such. Stay back for your safety if you are not going to be in the boss room.
Retro Hell Fire:
You cannot absorb this as Charlotte, I only call it Retro Hell Fire as its dracula again using fireballs. What he does is he summons in waves of fireballs when he lifts his cape (hellfire anyone? xD). The waves go lower front, then higher front & medium back at the same time. What you do to avoid it? VERY simple.
Just tap A, so you hop and don't jump high, you hop over the lower wave and then land before the higher wave hits you. If you jump too high, you don't land in time.
ANY character can dodge this way and its easy to do. In general you can hit about 2-3 times before the cape, 2-3 after. If you're fast and the third hit usually is a risking one.
This is why the Valmanway and other blender blades are very much useless for damage wise. They don't blend, as you only hit a couple times. If you're Soma, just use the Minotaur soul instead of Succubus for more damage and use things like: Kaiser Knuckles +1, Nebula, Muramasa (+1 or regular), and Claimh Solais (+1 or regular).
Warg Soul does a good hefty 100 or so damage to him each hit but its slow, usually get one maybe two hits in before he goes away so thats up to you. (Due note thats from a level 9 Warg soul)
Alucard Sword +1 does very good damage to him.
All whip users do the best, I'm hitting with Miser Rings and nearly maxed(all 8s and 9s) Jonathan about 50-60 per hit which is what my Soma hits with the Muramasa (regular not +1). Plus if you some how get behind him and he does the fireballs, Martials can go through the fireballs if it is one with invincibility. (Tackle/Somersault[Richter], Danger Knee/Foreward Roll[Jonathan], & Omnia Vantus[Julius])
Charlotte's R. Summon Skeleton maxed out does like 70-80 damage per hit to him, casting in the right place will hit his head twice. With minium of once.
Once he does cast the fireballs, he just teleports away and does it again. So keep on the look out!
Back That Ass Up!:
As my friends say...When you're behind him, eighty percent of the time he will drop back and slam against the side of the wall with his back, swiping anyone behind him. This gives him an invunerability where he cannot be touched until nearly one second before he lifts his cape, to do the Retro Hellfire. Overall, don't stay behind him, if you are, be prepared to jump.
The BIG boy. Killed his first form. Now on to the big form.
NOTE: Just like Chapter 6, he has fire to keep you away from the button and outside the boss room. If you're anywhere above or near the boss door, after about so many seconds a fireball spinning inferno happens. It'll be like the boss when he summons fireballs and its like a wheel spinning around but it doesn't stop until people are in the boss room or way away. This will go INTO the boss room and anywhere near where you triggered it. So if you plan to do door duty, stay at the bottom of the stairs or such, not near the door. [This only triggers when it is the second form!]
Body Slam:
He'll often jump up and try to jump on you, really all you need to do is slide away, sometimes walking you won't out walk his jump but overall just slide one way or the other, and you'll dodge it. Simplest attack he has.
Chicken Dance:
He'll randomly jump back and flap his wings really fast, if you don't keep an eye on him this can be brutal. It does nearly 200+ damage on anyone not wearing ancient armor. (I wear Retro Armor and still get hit with 200+ damage if I get hit by this.) Though this is very simple to dodge if you see it coming, just jump over it. But as simple as this is to dodge, it can be just as deadly. He has a third attack which is usually what is before this one. A fireball one comes first, then he'll do more fire, jump or do this.
Fireball Inferno:[/b]
He'll stand still, flap his wings once and then fireballs will appear like the Thunder Cross Duel Crush, spinning from him outward around in three waves. This can be very hard to dodge if he is on top of you or if it's a full group.
Me and my friends have decided that the more people the more fireballs in that inferno. As if you have about 3 people usually it spins once, twice and you're set but in a full group there's usually one more fireball wave that is about half size that can hit you just as easily as the other two waves. Whereas if you have about 2-3 there's only about 3 fireballs and they aren't that close to you if you're not on his face. So factor in that if you got a full group you may have a third wave to dodge!
Now you got the simple tactics with characters to dodge this. Alucard's Mist, Soma's Final Guard, Jonathan's Danger Knee, Julius' Omnia Vantus but make sure you got the placement down or you'll be kissing R. Count's face and quite frankly Omnia Vantus goes so far, I think you may end up hitting the second wave of fireballs.
Richter, however, has the easiest time. You just face away from the fireballs and jump up placing yourself where one fireball is about to impale your back, then hit the left bumper to do the Somersault and you jump through the fireball. (1-3 second invincibility with Somersault.) Then you move ahead and do it again for the second wave.
Now if you're far enough away, you can also watch it as the two waves usually have one thing in common even if they don't always have the same exact pattern in common. One wave you jump, one wave you duck/slide under. Usually, so if you can with like Charlotte just go far away as possible and jump/duck the waves as needed.
Another tactic I've found easier but also dangerous with a lot of people is jump kicking. Jump up to where you're between two fireballs and jump kick down through it, then move a bit to the left or right and do it to the next wave (each wave is slightly placed different, you will hit a fireball if you made it through the first time fine and try same spot again. - Least in my experience.).
PROBLEM with this jump kick is, if someone is under you, you jump kick off their head back into the fireballs...FAIL! lol I've had that happen too many times to say.
This really is the only attack to be worried about, if you can dodge this and chicken dance, the boss is easy.
Everyone spawns together. No unique spawn points.

Secrets ( 21 )
MINI BOSS ALERT: Phantom Bat
This boss was the very first boss of the original NES Castlevania game. It is why this specific Phantom Bat has almost double the health than what a regular Phantom Bat near the end after R. Grim Reaper has. It has a very typical pattern. If it is flapping his wings it is about to move either to the left or right. Usually towards you to slam into you.
It throws firebals towards you as well. Normal it's only one, Hard it is three.
That's really all I can say about him, he's pretty easy. Long as you're not using the Valmanway without miser rings and such. Most of the mini bosses are blender-proof.
MINI BOSS ALERT: Queen Medusa
MINI BOSS ALERT: R. Mummyman
MINI BOSS ALERT: R. Creature
MINI BOSS ALERT: R. Grim Reaper
BOSS ALERT: R. Count (FIRST FORM)
BOSS ALERT: R. Count (SECOND FORM)
