Intro: Nice to meet you fellow members, kinda new here. ;D Just wondering, do boss souls drop more frequently on hard mode rather than on normal mode? I already have every rare item that i want in Ch.11, only rare item remaining are the Ryukotsuki Souls.  |

I believe the answer to that is: yes, assuming you use the same equipment. 1 and 2 star items drop more frequently on normal mode, whereas 3 & 4 star items drop more frequently on hard mode. Boss souls are 3 or 4 star items.
But on normal mode you can wear high luck gear with 2 soul eater rings and still rush the level quickly. Some people dispute boss souls are affected by luck or soul eater rings, but you can check the numbers in the monster compendium with gambler glasses to see for yourself the effect they have.
With full luck gear and 2 soul eater rings you can increase the drop rate for boss souls to over 7%. But a 7% drop rate means you will have a frustating time if you are grinding, since everytime you kill the boss there is a massive 93% chance you will get something else. With a 7% drop rate being the highest you can get, expect to take well over 100 games to maximise boss souls.
You can also try using the Deathscythe, but it's not really certain if it has any effect. Numbers you can see are one thing, but descriptions may not mean what they seem to imply. It's also a slow and horrible weapon to use.

Ryuwhatshisname is the only boss soul I still need to maximise.

Wow thanks man. I actually gave up doing singleplayer runs so I just did online co-op and got a higher drop rate. It seems that going online with more people actually increases the chance of getting boss souls.  Lol same here too. Only need the Ryukotsuki Souls and then Im done with all the Boss Souls! |

The Boss Souls do not count as a Soul, because they are in a chest, so soul rings doesn't work.
They also have 5 stars and they drop more often on normal, because they are the only 5-star items on normal.
