I'll start with WET.
Mix Prince of Persia, Dead to Rights, and Quentin Tarantino together and you end up with WET. You play as Rubi Malone, world's finest assassin, on a revenge quest that will take her all over the world. This is among my top 5 games for the Xbox 360, mostly because of how ridiculous it is. Here are a few reasons for why I loved it so much.
1. The health system. I'll be up front with this: the game has regenerating health. It's the way that the game handles it that makes it work so well, though. You won't regenerate health normally. Instead, your health gradually starts to replenish itself as you rack up kills. The higher your kill multiplier, the faster it replenishes. This encourages you to go out and be badass, rather than running away and hiding behind a corner every time you have a near-death experience.
2. The slow-mo. Rubi is ridiculously acrobatic. As in, able to navigate the level and shoot at the same time. Almost every time you're doing something acrobatic, be it running along walls or diving or sliding, the game goes into slow motion to allow you to line up precise shots. Without this mechanic in place, the game would be very frustrating, as you constantly have hordes of people out for your blood and you'll usually be moving at a fast pace.
3. Putting the action back into action games. Rubi's guns are apparently magical, as she never has to reload any of them during regular gameplay. Reloading has never been something I hate in games, but you'll definitely notice the difference when you play WET. The action just seems so much faster than other games. And then there's the levels. Here are a few clips from the game, from the second and sixth chapters. The game is all about fast, mindless fun, and I love it for it.
