Yesterday, Capcom announced Ultra Marvel vs. Capcom 3, showcasing 4 new characters with gameplay footage. The 8 other new characters already have been leaked.
Currently, I am the personification of hype.

Capcom is pulling the same old stunt they always pull in their games. I'm not on this hype train.
Unless these characters become DLC for the normal version-(Namely Frank West and Vergil)-I won't care.

Mad? It's the truth and you know it. Street Fighter is a series that has seen multiple releases, even the recent Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition.
Marvel vs Capcom 3 has been out for barely half a year and they're already pulling that stupid shit again. It's stuff that should have been included with the game to begin with, like they promised. Same reason why I'm not going to buy the PSN version of Harmony of Despair; Some new goodies won't con me over.
You have fun spending $40 on a game you already bought a few months ago. I'll stick with the superior Mortal Kombat. They promised that MK would get regular DLC in both costumes and characters and... what do ya know? They came through with that word.

No, I'm not mad. I'm tired of this stupid bullshit from people like you. There have been reasons why they did this. And fact is that if they would've released all the stuff in this upgrade as DLC, you would've paid WAY more than just 40 dollars, probably twice the money. It would've been about 60 for the 12 characters alone. Let alone the new stages, alt colors, etc.
Yes, I definitely am going to spend 40 dollars on that expansion pack that I will enjoy just as much as the original, if not more. I play MvC3 to this date and will play it until November. It is one of the games I enjoy the most out of my entire library. I am above your moronic whining, especially considering the price point.
Seriously, it really annoys me that people to this date are kicking Capcom's nuts for releasing expansion packs, while they praise Call of Duty 23 (with 2 new maps and weapons, but still using the same textures and models as before!) and WoW Expansion 54, just because they don't have "super" in their titles, but different numbers or a fancy subtitle.
Mortal Kombat is actually worse and I am boycotting it for the fact they're trying to undermine the second-hand market with their online game-code. This is even more BS than having a new release for less money. Not to mention, they're located like in... America? Yea. They didn't have an earthquake, a tsunami and a cracked nuclear plant to deal with and changing their release plans.
Also, why the hell are people complaining about the release date? First of all, it's not half a year, it's 9 months in between. There have been new expansions and sequels in shorter time before, from Capcom themselves but also from other companies. Secondly, why would a longer wait period make the release better? I don't understand the concept of that.

Sound mad, Rommy? Still haven't gotten over your anger issues?
Like I said.... if the original version isn't compatible with the new characters and such, it's trash. Especially screws over people who pre-ordered special editions of it.

Eh... I've defended Capcom for so many years. I still, to this day, wholeheartedly defend their old school reissues of fighting games. Back then, it was clearly about being able to perfect the game while supporting the staff doing so.
Nowadays, however, I have to agree with the haters. The newer upgrades have just been shameless; think about all the things they said were impossible due to not having enough memory in MvC3, that are now in UMvC3. Think back on Ono openly admitting they left characters intentionally too strong in each iteration of SF4, who were then nerfed in the next iteration each time. Hell, just look at how close together MvC3 and UMvC3 really are.
I don't think I'm letting the salt over Legends 3 cancellation influence me here either. They straight up said it was impossible to do spectator mode, to come up with movesets for Ghost Rider or Phoenix Wright, etc. And now all three of those, among other things, have happened.
I'm sorry, I just can't defend Capcom anymore.

I asbofuckinglutely refuse to support this game title anymore. This should be a free update to the previous game, or atleast a small dlc fee. i won't even go into detail, im just not buying anything else from Capcom. If i do, i will buy it used to make sure they aren't getting any of my money.
