Soma - Japanese. He actually sounds like he's gonna kill something, and not like a priss.
Shanoa - English. Her English voice actress sounds more eloquent and beautiful, like she's supposed to be. Though listening to how the Japanese VO of Shanoa sounds when charmed is pretty funny. XD
Jonathan - English. He just sounds so much more bad A.
Yoko - Japanese. ...Just because her screams feel more bearable.
Maria - Japanese. English has an autotuned Hymn, whereas the JP VO actually sings.
Julius - Japanese. He practically sweats manly manliness.
Richter - English. Richter sounds like a jerk in his JP VO sometimes, which kind of bothers me because he's such a nice guy in his original game.
Charlotte - English. She actually sounds like, you know, a 16 year old?
Alucard - English. Yuri Lowel-- I mean Yuri Lowenthal can make his characters sound kind of pathetic, and that is totally the case here, but when he actually speaks normally, it does fit Alucard's image.
Simon - Spanish. He accidentally charmed the ladies of my party once. They were all over him. It was quite a scene. Which was troublesome because we were fighting The Count. Luckily we had a jealous Julius that just had to flex his pecks. Poor Simon was all alone that night.
Fuma - Hungarian. He sounds appropriately pissed, since, you know, his whole clan was killed. Little did he know that this is the fate of almost every ninja/samurai clan, so Fuma went off to kill the writers of his story and give a happier ending for all ninjas. He and Ryu Hayabusa became good buddies after that.

I think for those of us who understand/speak Japanese we will always prefer those voices. Some of them are hilarious, and the Japanese voice for Maria practically makes the character.

Her "arigatou" and "dekichatta" are awesome.

Also most of the meanings are slightly different, and even more useful at times in Japanese.

Japanese "seiyuu" (voice acting) is much more advanced as far as a career and art form in Japan than in the United States. For this reason several characters, namely Charlotte's English voice, are out of date, like some silly character from a 90's cartoon. Charlotte in English sounds like an older girl, or even a boy trying to imitate a girl. Maria's is the only voice in Japanese that is purposely out of date as an ode to her old voice actress in Rondo of Blood.

But then again maybe I just am biased toward Japanese voice acting which is much more accepted and standardized.

There are definitely downsides to the Japanese voices, such as "daruku enferunum" from Alucard sounding like an old Japanese general, or any katakana word that comes out overly pretentious.

At the end of the day though, Charlotte's "Dou?" is too hot to pass up ; )
