Introduction
The Skeleton is probably one of the oldest, most-used and best-known staple enemies in the history of Castlevania. It was introduced in the very first game and has sticked since. The current appearance was introduced in Rondo of Blood, and to be frank, by now it would feel weird if Konami decided to use any other sprite on the Skeleton than this 15 year old one.
In any case, Skeletons are, obviously, enemies in Harmony of Despair, but also can be allies, but only in Co-Op multiplayer. If you see a skeleton with a halo over its head, you will know that this is one of your teammates who actually has died. Use a Water of Life, found in blue chests, on this guy, and he will be revived, completely restored with full HP. However, sometimes you can't revive, or you die and can't be revived, and thusly, you might wanna know what to do when you die.
Abilities
Skeletons have, no matter what your original equipment was, always 100 HP, 100 MP (not that they'd need it), cannot be poisoned, cursed or petrified, will take static 10 damage from any trap not being an iron maiden. You will also run at standard speed, even if your alive version had Sonic Boots equipped. Maria, Simon and Fuma will grow in size and, for the latter 2, get a graphical update - all Skeletons look the same and have the same size/hurtbox.
Skeletons can double jump, duck and slide kick. Their main attack is a small bone that is tossed in an upwards arc, similar to the actual Skeletons' attack. However, you can never do more than ~5 damage with these bones. There is a ridiculously small chance that you will throw a huge bone (looking like Soma's Level 9 Skeleton soul) instead, but don't rely on it.
If you die and there's no water near, try your best to get away from any danger. Leave the boss room if possible, if not, avoid the attacks as good as you can. A skeleton should be able to dodge all attacks, even though it's harder for them. If you die again, 3 minutes will be subtracted from the clock, giving your teammates less time to revive you and/or kill the boss. If they kill the boss and open the golden chest even with you dead, don't worry - you might not get any other chest drops, but for the Boss chest's drop, you will be revived.
If you play with a microphone, ask for help from other players should you die in a spot where you would be in danger (enemies that home into you, like Harpies, or hallways staggered with enemies you cannot pass through but try to attack you). If you don't have a mic, try to reach a spot where you're safe. The most important part about being a skeleton is to not die again.
Skeletons are also required to acquire the Boned achievement. 5 people have to die and stay in Skeleton form, one player has to be alive. The boss has to die while these 5 players are dead. Dieing after the boss is dead will not gain you the achievement. Everybody in the group will receive the achievement, no matter if they are a skeleton or the alive player.
