IntroductionThe Axe Knight, also called Axe Armor or Axe Lord, has been a staple enemy since the very first Castlevania. The appearance it takes on here has been introduced in Rondo of Blood, and has been re-used for the enemy "Old Axe Armor" in Portrait of Ruin. When Alucard puts on the Axe Lord Armor, he will transform into this guy, as well, and in Portrait of Ruin, there is an unlockable mode allowing you to play as the Axe Armor, as well. In Harmony of Despair, there are 2 types of Axe Knights: The blue ones are regular enemies appearing throughout most of the stages. The silver Axe Knights, however, are a character. Or technically, they aren't. Silver Axe Knights named ??? will appear whenever you are in a game with a player who uses a DLC character whom you have not downloaded. There is no actually playable version of the Axe Knight in the game, though. You are able to interact with them, though, as you can use dual crushes (that belong to the respective character), and you can see some of the attacks they use, such as Yoko's Blue Splash or if one of the whippers use a sub weapon. Here you can see a video showcase of it. It is available as character DLC for free, I guess. o_o
