I know a few of us here have already mentioned buying this game when it releases. As with any ES game, I'll spend most of the pre-release speculating on which race/builds I'll go with.
My first instinct would be to go with a Nord/melee type since its Skyrim, but that's what I used in Oblivion. Dude was invulnerable. No, really. Monsters died just by attacking him. Brooooo-ken!
QuikQuestion -- Is this the first time the actual engine has received an upgrade since ESIV (including F3 + NV)?

I saw ES and all i could think about was Excel Saga.
I wasn't a fan of the oblivion games in the past, but i did buy it for my girlfriend, still have the damn game she was obsessed with.

Well seeing as my first pc game was arena I <3 this series almost as much as castlevania. And I know that the series is a humongous time sink for me. I'll get it and next thing I know I'm a year older with 400 hours game time and no idea where my year went

Supposedly the idea is to make a game with a more classic feel, using ideas from some old sierra games as well as Arena & Daggerfall. The new engine will also be used for a few other titles one most likely being Fallout 4 which i hope they co-develop with obsidian.
Man I'm hyped can't wait to learn more about the engine.
