Does it pay to get 2 Muramasa +1s instead of 1? Is Yatsusuna +1 better? Does it pay to get 2 of those instead of 1? I ask for Soma and Alucard separately because I know at least the Muramasa +1 is better than Claimh Solhais, but only for Alucard.
I know that most +1 weapons have 1.5 times the attack. How does that translate into damage? Is it ever more than 1.5 and if so, by what margin? I would think the the Claimh +1 would do less than 1.5 damage because holy wouldn't multiply like that.

As far as I know, the increased damage for a +1 weapon is always 1.5x, however the Int boost from Claimh Solais +1 is double the Int of a regular Claimh; that's really the only difference between any +1 weapon and their "vanilla" counterparts. Some say that Yatsusuna +1 has a faster attack rate than the regular version, but I've never had a chance to compare the two.
The damage output of any +1 weapon is substantial enough to make a difference. In Harmony of Despair, DPS is the best thing you can go for, so there's no reason not to use a +1 weapon (there are only a small handful of weapons that can compare to +1's, including Badelaire, Moon Rod, Death's Scythe, Gungner, and MAYBE Fist of Tulkas...oh, and Terror Bear ;P)
As far as Yasutsuna +1's go, Alucard can make impeccable use of dual Yatsu +1's, but if Ryukotsuki is being a jerk and not dropping a second one for you then one will be more than sufficient. Pairing up a single Yatsu +1 with a Val +1, Moon Rod, or Mura +1 will still make for a great set-up.
Dual Muramasa +1's are up for debate, however. In order to utilize dual Mura's to their full potential, you have to be a complete master with backdash cancels. Assuming you're using default controls, the input to utilize dual Muramasa +1's would look something like (X, Down, LB, Y, Down, LB) very fast, and it requires quite a bit of precision to do properly. If you're not very good with BDC's, a single Muramasa +1 will still get the job done.
Muramasa +1 is often considered the greatest weapon in the game in the hands of someone who knows how to BDC well, so yes -- it is superior to Yasutsuna +1.

TL;DR Soma = 2x Muras if you can Back dash cancel, if you cant > Clamih +1 and Ryu Soul 9x > Still cant 2x Val+1 for ultimate noob play Alucard = 2x Muras if you can BDC, if you cant, Yasu+1 and Mura +1 >Shanoa style BDC, Still cant > 2x Yasu+1 If you wanna be pro, forget about using the +1 weapons, use nunchakus on Soma and Holbien daggers on Alucard
