I'm starting an iPhone app for Harmony of Despair, and it will be free to download from the App Store (But there will be ads in it).
I'm building a matchmaking feature to pair people up. Users can enter their platform and preference for Co-op or survival, and a reason, like "Chapter 6 runs for Valmanway, need good Somas" etc. I already have this service in place for a Call of Duty MW3 app called MWIII Bible for iPad and MW Bible Jr for iPhone. So it's not just a proof of concept.
The other feature will be Chapter, character and item info and breakdown.
The final "non-feature" would just be a "Community" section that opens a webview of the Alternate Harmony forums. This is my request from the board operators for permission. If I this frowned upon I will just point to the Castlevania Wikia page.
Thanks for your consideration!

Guy.
You are my hero. This is an amazingly awesome idea here.
Now I have a quick question for you, I've been debating moving this forum to another forum I actually pay for and host. If I do do so, it will be awhile before I do. However If I do, would it make it that much harder on you? Or is it a simple change of coding to change the links?

If you did that the app would have to be updated with a code change, the line specifying the url would have to be fixed. It takes me about a month from start to finish and i just started today. so it won't be this weekend =)

It will take awhile before I decide if this website is worth promoting. I may also wait until the release of another casltevania game. Unless we are to offer support for all metroidvania's which I don't think is a bad idea.
For quite some time we're going to be dedicated to this forum though, so no need to worry about changing any coding for awhile.
Thanks again, that is pretty awesome. What about an android version of the app, is that possible?

What about an android version of the app, is that possible? I haven't learned enough about the Java language or dev environment so that is a no for right now. It will probably be that way for a long time unless Google offers a more compelling way of development, I can barely wrap my head around getting the environment set up! I'll post some screenshots when I have something mocked up, the first half is all about writing code, the fun interface stuff doesn't start til later

Alright, if there's any way I can help just let me know I have no programming experience/skill otherwise I'd love to have made a Android version (though I admit, I hadn't even considered it until you mentioned it).

I actually already access this on an iPod/ iPhone app. It's a Proboards forum, and Proboards has an app on the store for around £1.79. Hell, it's how I found the forum in the first place.
Still, something which provides a matchmaking function would be brilliant, and I only hope that Konami step up to the challenge and release another multiplayer Castlevania so it isn't wasted.
