I'm a fan of Bioware but I am not a fan of EA. I've begun hating EA ever since I've started working for xbox.
I'm tempted to pirate Mass Effect 3 and just send a mail to Bioware letting them know I have pirated their game, and I want to support them, but not support EA. So send them my money as a form of donation.

I was pretty surprised Sony was supporting Sopa and not Microsoft. Oh yeah. Huh, I didn't notice that. That's kinda shocking. I always imagined Microsoft as the type to jump all over this shit.

Squeez, pirating ME3 won't help the situation either, just let it go. The console version is rumored to also require Origin, and a constant internet connection.
On top of that be careful about a "money donation" to Bioware, I'm pretty sure that EA owns them now. The important part you have to pay attention to is who has what parent company. While Bioware may not support SOPA, if they are owned by EA then they support SOPA regardless.
Also Megavideo will be greatly missed, let us have a moment of silence for our old friend.

Developers are run by their publishers and thus your argument is valid. However they're still people, and I could be wrong, but I think they'd agree with us, and if they were not part of EA, they would not support SOPA. Besides that's not the only reason I hate EA. I've hated EA ever since I started working for xbox.
Pirating ME3 won't fix anything, you're right. But I was speaking figuratively. In all honesty I'll be purchasing ME3 on xbox simply because I'm interested in the Kinect features. Thankfully I'm picking up my ME3 early access demo from work at the beginning of February.

Lol remember when I was talking about this a few weeks ago? Thanks goodness Google and a few others protested, I've been signing petitions for weeks. I had heard today that 18 Governors had pulled from SOPA and PIPA which is a great thing, If it passed this site could have been in danger of being removed.
EA has never been on my good list, but it's sad that one idea to screw them over would only hurt the developers as well, can't win that I guess. But wanna know why they support SOPA? What is one of the biggest FPS that they own? Battlefield. Who would they like to see stopped? Pirates? No, competition for their FPS. The big game companies don't like indie developers because that's money going to others and not them. Same thing with the Cable/TV/Movie/satellite industry. Did you know they paid off senators with 91 billion dollars to support SOPA and PIPA? Sites like Youtube are hated by them because the more time someone watches youtube is the less they get their stuff watched. I'm sorry TV but once you have good shows again and bring back the old G4 (not Cops4ever) I'm gonna stick with youtube.
Also apparently Let's player would get the worse cause everything they do involves copyright in one way, but that's free advertisement for them, who else do you think dungeon defenders got their name out there? They were featured on Totalbiscuits WTF series and they got tons of people to notice their game.

That's another thing, a lot of indie developers would lose their "jobs" so to speak, and amazing games that are made by just regular fans would be screwed over. Just for making a reference towards something else. Robot chicken would be gone, on that note, because it makes all kinds of references towards movies, television, cartoons.
Anime would almost completely stop coming to america aside from a few rare shows that get licensed.
Games wouldn't come over here as much because there wouldn't be as many customers petitioning for american releases of a game they don't know about.
