Okay, recap time.
T-Dog is suffering from an infection in the cut on his arm he got last episode. Sophia is still missing. The Hershel family has been introduced. Carl's bullet wound is being treated by Hershel Sr. Shane went to a high school (along with the man who accidentally shot Carl, Otis) to fetch some extra medical supplies. The supplies were guarded by a giant horde of zombies surrounding the school. Shane and Otis got the supplies, but they were trapped inside the high school while trying to escape the horde. Andrea had another close call. Nobody died this episode, but I'm banking on Shane becoming infected at the very least next week.

Shane and Otis escaped the school. They were chased around by the horde they attracted. Shane got away with the medical equipment. Otis didn't make it out. Still no word on Sophia. Dale and Andrea haven't made up yet, but it looks like they're beginning to. Maggie and Glenn talked a bit, but they don't look like they've started a relationship quite yet. T-Dog got the cut on his arm treated. Hershel Sr. successfully operated on Carl with the medical equipment. It was revealed at the end of the episode that Shane shot Otis and left him behind to distract the horde so he could get away with the medical equipment.
I'm enjoying the extra attention Shane's getting compared to how he was treated in the comic. The gray morality he's showing is very interesting to me. Using the only person who volunteered to help him as live bait was an extreme dick move, but he did it to save his best friend's son. Unless he gets drunk again and reveals what he did, he's probably going to get away with this. I'm still hoping he dies before the end of the season, though.

I'm ok with some differences. Though I don't think they should have killed Otis off yet. One major difference is, Shane is still alive, where as Otis is now dead. That's a bit...unexpected, but i suppose the creators wanted to throw a curveball at everyone who read the comics. And they were successful. I don't hate the changes so far, but up until he shot otis, i was starting to really like and feel bad for shane quite a bit.

I might have to start contributing to this discussion starting next episode...
I haven't read the comics so I have no idea what the differences are and don't know what might happen in later episodes.

The search for Sophia is still on. Carl is still recovering. Shane and Rick argued over Rick's leadership capabilities. Lori's pregnancy has been confirmed. Hershel Sr. and Rick are starting to have some friction. Glenn and Maggie are having some awkward moments. Shane is constantly being reminded of Otis, and by extension what he did to Otis.
Daryl's horse bucked him while he was looking for Sophia and he got impaled in the side with one of his crossbow bolts. He started having hallucinations about Merle, but snapped out of it just in time to take care of a couple of zombies moving in on him. More hallucinations from Merle encouraged him to make his way back to the farm, despite his injuries. Daryl being filthy, bloody, and exhausted at this point, Andrea mistook him for a zombie and shot him in the head with her rifle when he returned. The bullet grazed him, though, and Hershel Sr. treated his wounds. Carol personally thanked him for his effort and it looks like he's happy for now.
Glenn fucked around near the barn (and we all know how well that went in the comic) at the end of the episode and pissed off the zombies inside. Cut to black. So, what did we learn? Daryl is a badass, Andrea is a dumbass, Shane is a jackass, and T-Dog is a lazyass.

the only reason i haven't been responding to this thread lately is because i've been a bit behind no time outside of work lately. All i really do is work + sleep -------------- for lack of double postinggggg Ok so I finally caught up to the series. Completely different from the comic...which CAN be a good thing, because i'm still in for surprises. As long as they don't....rush it or anything, which is what i'm getting the feeling is the case. Curious how they're going to end it, since they're not caught up to the comic anyways and the comic is still ongoing. Probably going to end it long before htey catch up or get close
