i probably won't be that interested then. The mugen engine can produce some cool stuff, but it's never run smooth for me

Looks like I'm late to the party! Colticide and I were JUST talking about this.
I'd personally recommend at least trying it out, if someone still has a copy of the software. I'd pass it on, but I don't have membership to any file-sharing places. =/
While some boss fights suffer ridiculous glitches, the game has the capacity for some really fun cooperative play if you have any friends in the area that are Castlevania fans. The one thing I DON'T like about the game personally is that Jonathan is considered a joke character; instead of his usual arsenal of weapons he tots a teddy bear (instead of a whip) and has really silly special modes that can backfire on him. XD
All in all though, the boss fights do have CVs retro charm. It's definitely worth a try.
But this is just my opinion. = )
