I tried the demo, and although it took me a while to get used to the changes they made to the old Contra formula (gimped single jump, though that's replaced by the double jump, and dashing), it was really fun. I had problems aiming while on the hoverbike though; it didn't seem as responsive as it was in Contra 3, and I'd see Bahamut aim upwards when I was pointing to the left.  Or maybe my friend's beat up controller was to blame here. I also wasn't a fan of the enemy's death cries, but that's just being nit picky. Overall, I'd recommend this to anyone who likes Contra, Metal Slug, Gunstar Heroes, or any other similar games. I just can't decide if I want this, or Bionic Commando Rearmed 2, or Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. |

i don't know, but i'm definitely enjoying it. i even paid for an extra dlc character.
though it would be nice if i had people to play with, it's not as popular a game as HoD

Okay, I caved in and bought it. I was raised on Super Contra, and I just have to answer the call to arms every time I hear that title tune.

I have it. I'm really not a fan of Contra but I liked it. I just can't enjoy Arcade though, due to the slower movement.

arcade seems bleh, because you cant really "level up" or whatever

Yeah. If I want a challenge I can turn off select upgrades in Rising mode anyway... it offers nothing unique, but a lot of people insist that it's "the right way" to play the game apparently.
