I finally maxed the grenade and wow was it not with it. So you just registered in order to post this? I don't know what to say. Obviously, you have no clue about the sub. But don't worry, hardly anybody has seen the light.

It just coincidently happened to be my first post. When have you found it ever to be useful?

It can hit multiple times if it is postioned right. So far my only use for it 100% was what I think it was Stormulus who mentioned it here. Is to chuck it to bounce under Dracula's third form hand and hit his face 2-3 times.
I've killed some enemies in one hit with it if it hits all the explosion but the extreme bounce, I've yet to get into control.
I'd say the most useless Sub of Johnny is probably the axe or holy water honestly. (axe cause everything blocks it and holy water cause its really only too necessary in retro areas to have a sub weapon aiming down, and if you have retro levels retro fire bomb is superior in every way)

It deals almost as much damage as the Cross (only like... 2 points of damage less per hit) and is far easier to get 3 hits in than with the Cross (as it's pretty much guaranteed if the hurtbox of the enemy is standing in the beginning of the blast). It's actually surprisingly useful against Dracula and The Count likewise. Dracula already has been mentioned. For the Count, it actually is stupidly awesome against both forms. While approaching the Count while appearing, you can throw one at him before or while he does his fireballs if he's not like on the other side of the room. Second form it's even more useful - if he dashes or jumps into a corner, you can throw the grenade against the wall and it's a guaranteed hit. As soon as you have down how the bounce works (and it's not hard to figure out, honestly), you can chuck in a grenade almost everytime he moves and you're too far away for getting in an Uppercut. When playing on Chapter 10, the Grenade is a mainstay for me, it's also surprisingly useful against Queen Medusa.

Those both make sense to me. I'll try it out on dracula and the count tonight. I still ned to get the firebomb though. I end up using holy water on astarte...the only time I've found it kind of useful.

Also, everyone who played the Count with me can vouch for the awesomeness of the grenade. You can ask Crippler, Wharrrrrglgarbl, Shiitake or Monkeylove. They all have seen it in action.

I played with a yellow jonathan last friday night that used grenades on the count. We were the last two alive then I died. Was that you? I play as orange jonathan.
