I've only played bits and pieces of MvC1, even less of MvC2. I love the series, but the last title I really played was Marvel vs. Street Fighter. So, how far behind am I? I'm interested in buying this game, but it would have to be a single player purchase, as I would likely get wiped in multiplayer. Would this game be worth it as a single player purchase? (Sounds like the same question some have asked about CVHD.) I think so... From what I've heard, they have simplified things a lot in this one (as far as control wise although I'm not sure what that means cuz in 2 if you had the right set up, the three person ultra move was sooo easy to pull off) Believe it or not, besides all the quitters in MvsC2 it was also pretty fun online... you got to see characters being played ways you never thought of before... But yeah, from what I understand a lot of the core single player game is in teaching you how to use the characters and arcade mode for any fighter is always some fun... But in all reality, I'd say try it first (I think most redboxes will have it available to rent before too long) As for me, Monday at midnight can't come soon enough.

Midnight Release? Sure, I'll go.
(The next day, stories of several deaths of dedicated gamers were reported. Frozen to death outside a local Gamestop)

playing online so far has all been about running away and shooting.
And the only time i get people who actually play fair (this is rare), they're so badass they kill each of my characters in one single combo

Or you can just pick amaterasu or someone else with your own fast projectile and spam right back at them. The game turns retarded when it's a projectile war though, who can spam harder???
