Actually I'm not saying you're incorrect or anything at all, and I'd rather this thread not turn into a war of opinions or anything.
But I will say that Customer support would likely say that drops are determined when the boss is killed, even if the truth is that they're determined at loading screen simply because that would make more customers feel gypped. We have to do that all the time at my job.

How do you know this? The only official information is the in-game monster/item compendium and what appears to be a credible official email from Konami Customer Support shared on the net saying gold chest contents are determined at the point the boss is killed and influenced by the luck of the player who gets the final blow. Konami Customer Support doesn't know jackshit about the game, though, and the monster compendium does not show chest drops, but monster drops. And how I know it is described in this post. I think it doesn't add to your credibility that you specifically registered for this forum to post this thread and haven't posted anywhere else. Although Konami Customer Support do not know anything themselves it appears they are simply relaying a bit of information from the tight-lipped development team, which makes it credible. Boss souls come out of gold chests. Boss soul drop rates are shown in the monster compendium with gambler glasses and the rate can be seen to change with luck gear and soul eater rings. If the drop rate for one category of items (ie boss souls) in gold chests can be seen to be altered then it can be logically inferred that the change affects the balance of probabilities for all other items: ie higher/lower drops rates for boss souls = higher/lower chances for everything else. Even though I do not really understand your final point about my credibility I will disagree with it anyway. I will clarify. I registered for this forum because I find the information on this site useful and well organised. I have not posted anywhere else because I don't want to spend time duplicating. I posted this topic because I had a frustating time getting the rings (248 runs) and it could potentially be the difference between a player getting it on their next run or getting it 100 runs later. If I wanted things to be bad for other players then I could just withold this possibly useful information and then people can just missed out on what they haven't noticed. I got a badelaire a few games after my last post, and an ebisu reimant in chapter 11 a couple of minutes later. There is nothing left in the chapter 7 gold chest for me. I still have to get delta spark for Charlotte but it's too frustating getting spells on hard.

Hello
I hope that all of you receive my reply
Yesterday i played only one online match chapter 8 alucard
I opened the chest and i saw above the alu's head the valmanway and then all the players receive the golden chest item and i receive the valmanway (first one in my life)
I garante that what happened to you is true, is just the lag:
1) i was the host 2) rest of players had minimal icon connection 3) the game resolved the chest opening but because of lag was doing for second time the item animation above my head
I tried later again and it did the same for my soma on act7 with a stupid super potion.
It was the lag, not secret mechanic
Today i will do it again and upload it to youtube
