Huh. They're talking about soft resetting to save time, but how exactly is that done?
This is curious, because I've gotten the Fuma Greaves twice, both from the Oxicutioner. This might actually be true. o.o;

Soft reset is hitting a combination of button to reset the game where as hard reset is where you push a button on the console. You press a, b, x, y, rb, lb, and hold it, for ps3 I think it's x, [], ^, o, r1, L1

Haha, it makes me fail automatically! That's pretty nifty.
So, within the posting of this thread, I've just now managed to get Fuma's Helm by playing 4 player local, rushing into the boss room and grabbing the chest (with all of the characters in full luck gear) and then dying.
Great stuff. XD Thanks guys.
As a side, it seems like the person opening the chest's Luck affects the drops. I've been playing local for some time now with a full company (4 players), three of them full Luck builds and myself full stats. Since I was opening the chests, we got junk. I went in full luck this time around with four others, and I got Fuma's Helm TWICE in one chest opening.
Imagine my glee. XD
EDIT: Just got Fuma's Armor too! Now I have the complete set! Hahaha, this is AWESOME! Thanks a ton guys. =D

Congrats! I still only have the greaves but it'll happen some time for the others. From what my group have noticed for chests it is the one who opens it, but boss chests the one who opens, who comes in first, and second place somewhat effects it as well. Here is a link to my friend behindtimes and with his group of EVERYONE wearing full luck gear for the chests drops. You can check the total play time to see thats its back to back and it really shows that luck is a great factor, but one thing I find that people don't seem to understand is that if the 5 stars keep dropping that doesn't mean luck don't work, if you can find that a 5 star is dropping every time then you will get some eventually. www.youtube.com/watch?v=quc2RviKH-MPlaying with him got me everything I needed, its all about getting a team that will work together and all have luck gear when the chests open, so what we do is who ever has 2 thief and ebisu gets the secret item so he comes in first and he opens the chest and things just dropped like rain, I was so excited. EDIT: Check out all of Nytegard's videos, that's Behindtimes, also never watch mariotehplumber, the guy is just a troll and is only right about one thing even if he didn't mean to. |

I'm willing but I only have a short time before I move to another state. But if you do choose a group make sure everyone is wearing the best luck they can get when its time to open the chest, and who ever has the 2 thief and ebisu has to be the only one to get the secret item so they can come in first and they open the chest.

IMO(I have no proof and everyone can have their opinion) luck work well for getting rares, it work for each individual. Irony beat luck tho, say you already have 5 pair of sonic boots and helping a bunch of ppl in dire need of em if a pair drop it'll prolly drop for you >.> just to be a bummer.
Me and my brother were joking around with luck a couple weeks ago and we said hey, lets kill the boss then switch to all luck gear to open up gold boxes(my bro was on Soma, had 51luck+12 from a caviar, i had a bit less cuz alucard cant equip dead warrior and I think theres 1 base lck diff between those 2), we got 2 winged boots on that run, run after a miser ring, third run was valmanway+1.
A couple run after those we decided to try out some chapt 9 for fun, equipped all dmg gear (zerker mail etc) we had 9luck ish and got a pair of kaiser knuckles+1. I bet the game couldnt handle a pink Alucard + purple Soma and just gave us the items <.<.
