Ok here goes This game is going to turn me into a homicidal maniac! For the past week I've been farming for any of the following: Fuma's set Retro Helm Retro Cloak All +1 weapons Sonic Boots Thief Ring Claimh Solais And I've not found a single one! I've opened co-op chest's and watched others get them but I never seem to get them myself. I'm so frustrated with this I'd gladly lock my own mother in a room with a half starved polar bear if it would gaurentee me one of them. If the item count didn't stop at x9 I'd bet I'd have 9,000,000 of Simon's bandanna/sandal's/heavy armour. Christ I've even been able to max out a couple characters subs while farming! Konami devs better hope they don't ever meet me in a dark alley... I won't consider myself responsible for the horrors I inflict upon them! End of rant.

If you are farming for Fuma I'd recommend only playing as Fuma. This way you remove the Simon set from the drop pool.
Drops are crazy frustrating though. Just gotta keep grinding.

Here is my rant. I have fought Astarte at least 240+ times on hard gaurenteed, but my compendium shows over 300 kills now, and I have not gotten a single Miser Ring. It's getting beyond ridiculous. I see it drop all the time for others, one even gotten both of his back to back well within 50 kills of her, but I'm at least quintuple that with not a single one.
Thankfully, with another competent player, you can clear the level in 3 minutes, 2 minutes if you have a trio of exceptional players, but most times you get in a group where there aren't enough water's in life to raise one person from dying, let alone four who seem to can't dodge temptation.
Also, Astarte, why do you always have to do temptation when I enter the room, then immediately wipe me with a sand hurricane? Seriously, you make me look like a newb in front of all these people. AND STILL NOT DROP A MISER RING! But you'll give them to the asshat that spends his time going through the entire dungeon, not even making it to the boss room.
Also, Damn Retro Firebomb. You take 5 years to even move an inch even if you are my most used subweapon with Simon.

One thing I wanna point out concerning rare drops that I just remembered.
When you go for stuff, how many people do you have with you? With 2 people, both of us pretty much got all the rare drops we were looking for in 100 runs or less by equipping luck gear before picking up the chest.
Off the top of my head, Chapter 7 got us: 5 Miser Rings, many Winged Boots, too many Royal Crowns, and a lot of Robe Decolletes. (This was with Shanoa and Julius)
I'm probably forgetting some stuff, but this was back in like February.
And this trend continued to happen in the other chapters, although I can't specifically recall any situations. My point is, it seems far too consistent to blow off, and probably worth a shot if the RNG is being a dick.

Sounds pretty good to me. I plan on running duos anyway for real farming, but going in full parties for lulz.

One little tip when it comes to luck on boss chests if you plan on getting items with randoms.
I believe Konami was wrong when they stated the person who kills the boss has their luck applied to the chest. Rather, it's the person who comes in first who has their luck applied. (Granted, it still is better to have all players in luck if possible). And anyone in the group can be a benefactor (even those who have low luck).
Thus, for miser rings, if you just make sure to grab the secret item, it's all good, as few people on Chapters 4, 5, and 7 ever grab the secret item.
Chapters 10 & 11 work best in a group of friends though, but this at least makes chapter 11 significantly easier. One damage mule who basically just rushes the boss (making sure to not kill any sub bosses).
