i saw the word zombie. is it a darker story? like high school of the dead? i don't like the happy go lucky zombie stuff happy go lucky zombie, but the first episode has a battle with a giant crayfish. HSotD had too much fan service for me. :/ and I watched all of Strike Witches. oh yeah, there seems to be a darker, more serious side too it since the main character is trying to find his killer, but i'm only now just starting the 2nd episode, so i don't know too much about that. edit #2: Yeah it seems to be getting more and more serious but still awesome.

i don't care about the fan service, i just wanted to enjoy the story of HSotD I've been waiting for them to release more chapters of the manga, but they seem to have just stopped. Same with the anime, season 2 was announced but i've seen nothing of it.
in any case, I'm a huge fan of dark anime/manga

The fan service was just too distracting for me. It was so blatant that it and annoying that it was hard to pay attention to the show itself.
Although I might go back to it. It just possibly could have not been the right time. What I really look for is how they affect me emotionally, which can be pretty situational. And it can be in anyway, just from laughing my ass off uncontrollably to passion or sympathy for some of the characters. Like in Angel Beats's case where by the end of the season everything within a 5-foot radius of me is drenched in tears.
And I love anything that's huggable. :3

I picked back up on Soul Eater. I love the art style and character design. And the writing. And the humor.
I also started Hajime No Ippo. I've been looking forward to watching this for a long time. So far, it has exceeded my expectations.

Oh, crap, I forgot Adventure Time. Adventure Time is unironically the best children's cartoon. Takin' it back.

my previous roommates watched too much soul eater. i didnt dislike it, but i'd have enjoyed it more (i say the same thing about avatar) if it had more violence, death, and gore in it.

I don't watch too many movies and TV shows, since I like games better anyway (CV: HD included ^_^), but the last movie I watched was Bram Stoker's Dracula with Gary Oldman & Winona Ryder. Closest thing to the novel as it gets, and it even has Quincey Morris (the one who defeated Dracula in the novel, which is used as a plot device in CV: Bloodlines :3 ).

In light of its recent release of ep 3, I'm rewatching Gundam Unicorn to refresh my memory. I'm also picking up some things I didn't notice my first time watching.

Check out the end credits for the very first Castlevania game on the NES. It's such a joke. Anyways, as for me, I've taken a long break from anime, but I'm starting on Soul Eater. It's decent, but I guess I need to give it sometime.
